For the second year in a row, the Creativity Now Conference will bring together top figures in art, design, photography, music, film and political marketing. The people shaping today's popular culture will spend two days exchanging ideas, methods and inspirations in Cooper Union’s Great Hall. The conference will consist of several panel discussions and individual presentations. Once again, Creativity Now will prove to be the definitive cultural gathering of the year. Highlights from the weekend include:
- Raymond Pettibon will speak on his artwork, which was recently featured in the 2004 Whitney Biennial.
- Documenting Downtown, a conversation with legendary photographer Nan Goldin and Ryan McGinley, the youngest artist to ever to have a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum of Modern Art.
- Interview with Brian Eno by Carlo McCormick
- Art into Rock, with Rita Ackermann, members of Black Dice and Eye Yamataka of the Boredoms.
- Cinematography panel featuring award-winning cameramen Anthony Dod Mantle (28 Days Later, Dogville), Harris Savides (Elephant, Last Days), and Christopher Doyle (In the Mood for Love, Hero).
- Skateboarding’s Influence on Popular Culture, with Jackass producer Jeff Tremaine, DC Shoes founder Damon Way, pro-skater and artist Ed Templeton and filmmaker Thomas Campbell.
- Policy vs. Persona, with Howard Dean’s former campaign manager Joe Trippi, Center for American Progress founder John Podesta, MoveOn.org’s Laura Dawn and Gideon Yago of MTV News.
- Art Direction in Fashion, with m/m paris (whose clients include Björk, Madonna and French Vogue), SHOWstudio Editor-in-Chief Penny Martin, andJapan’s acclaimed art director Nagi Noda.
- Future of Film, with Mike White (Chuck & Buck, School of Rock), Lynne Ramsay (Ratcatcher, Morvern Callar), Asia Argento (Scarlet Diva, The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things), and David Gordon Green (George Washington, All the Real Girls)
- Independent Curators, with Creative Time’s Anne Pasternak, James Fuentes, Aaron Rose and Terminal 5’s Rachel K. Ward.
