Steve Powers and a new team of artists are back in Coney Island this summer to continue the work of The Dreamland Artist Club 2004 in which artists infused the legendary amusement park with murals and signs for rides, food shacks, and game booths. This year, the new group of artists--from New York street artists Swoon and Crash to the Brazilian twins Os Gemeos--painted more signs and murals, created limited edition prizes for select arcades, and set up shop with The Dreamland Artist Clubhouse.
OPENING EVENTS:
* Art Tours Check out over 40 Dreamland artworks, pick up a map, or receive a guided tour from The Dreamland Clubhouse (1202 Surf Avenue near West 12th Street) June 18 tours leave at 3:00, 3:30, 4:00, and 4:30 p.m. and then every Saturday and Sunday at 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. or by request throughout the summer.
* Play to win limited edition artworks at Happy Landings, Feed the Clowns, Balloon Dart Game, Bushel Basket, Basketball Game, Water Racing, Shoot Out the Star, and Skin the Wire.
* Happy Hour at Ruby's on the Boardwalk, 5-8 p.m.
* Burlesque performance and film screening at the Coney Island Museum following the Boardwalk party from 8 - 10 p.m. GET INFO AND TICKETS
