BOO. it's that time of year when it's totally acceptable for women to dress like sluts and men like idiots. that's right, it's halloween!

one of the perks of having your own kid is that you can dress them up however you wish for the first couple of years. for our generation, it would be nostalgic choices. in the third grade, i was R2D2. it wasn't until years later that i was able to fulfill my princess leia fantasy. my friend lara dressed up her monster cute baby, kiran as the dark lord of the siths -- i think you'd agree, this is so best. play safe and happy tricks everybody!

Robert Nesta Marley, better known as Bob Marley, was a Jamaican singer, guitarist, songwriter and activist. He is the most widely known Reggae musician of all time, famous for popularizing the genre outside of Jamaica. Much of his work deals with the struggles of the impoverished and/or powerless. Bob Marley's music and legend have gone from strength to strength in the years since his early death in 1981, whilst also bringing him a nearly mythic status in music history. He remains enormously popular and well known all over the world, and particularly so in Africa.

Adam Baumgold Gallery presents a new series of original comic drawings by Chris Ware for his forthcoming book Acme Novelty Library #16. This will be Chris Ware’s first New York solo exhibition. The works in the exhibition continue the serialized stories of “Rusty Brown” and “Building Stories,” which Ware has been working on during the last four years. All of the drawings in the exhibition will be from or at least have some connection to this 16th issue, which will premiere with advance copies at the opening.

our good buddies, kozy and dan were asked to create a comic strip for swindle magazine. after submitting their illustration, swindle asked them to censor part of the comic. the artists declined and reclaimed their work. i now have kozy and dan's first comic strip to share with you. drum roll please...introducing, "kozyndan in indoor land":

i sometimes wear a costume to work. it's quite a change. i'm no longer sporting t-shirts, trainers, and jeans daily. i shake too many industry hands and well, feel the pressure to dress smarter. that means putting on some sort of a costume. no, i'm not rocking dry-clean only suits. but i've traded my adidas for flats (on some days).

Call for Entries: Photographers for "Story"

Attention Photographers

New York based publisher (former publisher of the now defunct art and music magazine, b.informed) is in search of talented photographers to feature in a documentary photography book, Story.

Story, a photo annual, will exhibit new and unpublished work by ten invited documentary photographers.

Selection Process
Invitations will be extended to photographers who:
-demonstrate artistic and technical facility
-are willing to create new and unpublished work
-work exclusively or extremely well with black-and-white film
-have a sincere interest in the use of photography as a storytelling medium
-take a unique and stylish approach to their work
