Broken Western: The Taming of the Desert is a collection of each artist's personal interpretations of the desert and its people, symbols, myths, and physical milieu. The artists are from different backgrounds but share a common thread - each is connected to the desert as a current or past resident. Their work is an _expression of the social, historical, and environmental issues of this boundless territory.
This exhibition includes painting, photography, printmaking, as well as installation and film. The artists of Broken Western welcome you to join them in this celebration of the West, before America's insatiable urban development tames the Arizona spirit.
